More About JacobSix

JacobSix is designed to be simple and easy.  The focus is to put what is important to the individual team member in front of them so they can get their job done.  There is less emphasis on management, and more on the work that needs to get done to complete a project.  The site is organized around three main areas: Dashboard, Projects, and The Team.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first page you see after you sign in.  It is very simple and displays the users Workbook, Projects and Progress.  The Workbook lists the top 25 actions sorted by their due date and then priority.  Those things that are due sooner are higher in the list.  Among those, actions that are higher priority are higher in the list.  There is no further sorting that is allowed.  The idea is, the user should focus on these top actions regardless.  They can always look at other actions within the Projects.

The My Projects listing shows all of the projects that the user has created or is collaborating on with others.  If the user accepted an invitation to a project, it will be listed here.  Clicking the project name will take you to the project page.

The My Progress section shows a bar chart of the open and closed actions for that user across all of their projects.  This provides a quick look at where they are in the project.

Projects

The Project Page is where you do all the work within a Project.  Actions, Messages, and more is all easily accessible to you here.  You can open a project using the combo-box at the top of the site or selecting the project from the "My Projects" section on the Dashboard.  The project page is where you will add new actions and assign them to the team.  Projects also allow you to keep links, notes, and files related to the project.

The Team

Each project has a team.  You build your team by sending them an invitation to a project.  Once they accept, they will be able to access the project and work on actions.  The Invitation Dialog makes it easy to invite others to a project.  Simply enter their email address and an invitation will be sent to them.  Once they sign in and accept, they will enter the project.  The project will also be displayed in their "My Projects" listing.
